How does the Vitality 700i Vibration Platform work?
The Vitality 700i is a powerful vibration platform which features an oscillating platform. You stand on the platform and experience the repetitive movement and vibration which sends pulses of energy and movement through your body. You control the strength of the setting by using the machine’s control panel. As the movement works through your body, it is absorbed by the body’s tissues and is converted to heat. Warming muscles and joints improves their flexibility, circulation and movement. An Instructional DVD, has an exercise program you may follow. Please consult your doctor prior to beginning your fitness regime for this and any exercise machine.

It is a vibration sensation that is an intense exercise for your body without the physical exertion of jogging and weights which can pull muscles and cause stress to your body. On the Vitality 700i Vibration Platform you can perform static or dynamic movements including standing, sitting, kneeling, lying, and placing your hands on the platform. Almost any exercise from a typical gym workout or yoga class to passively sitting on a chair and resting your feet can be done on a vibration platform.Lower oscillating speed range - Generally, the lower speed range is beneficial for beginners, rehabilitation patients, the frail and overweight. It is for a good setting for general circulation and exercises when you are sitting on the platform, for bone strengthening, balance control, circulation and abdominal exercises.
Mid oscillating speed range - It is a more dynamic exercise routine and helps stimulate the body. It is helpful for improving circulation, reducing excess toxicity, combating depression or a general feeling of sluggishness and loss of motivation in life.
High oscillating speed range - Is for the physically strong, healthy healthy people and those in sports training.
Commercial units are expensive and can only be used a few times per week, but with the Vitality 700i , you can enjoy the benefits of vibration technology daily for an overall feeling of health and wellbeing!

Health, fitness and Space Age technologies come together to deliver outstanding benefits... Originally this research was developed by the Russian Aerospace program in the 1960's to combat the effects of zero gravity on astronauts. In the US, oscillating platforms are the focus for the development for a prevention program for astronauts' as their muscles and bones decrease in density when they are in space. “There is a known risk of permanent or long term bone loss which could result in a permanent or long term disability when returning from 100 day missions. It is believed astronauts could lose up to half their bone density on a three-year trip to Mars if no way is found to prevent bone loss”. Approximately 1/4 of this bone loss could be permanent, but scientists found that standing on a vibrating platform stimulated muscle and bone development. Preliminary trials on postmenopausal women have had positive results in bone growth. |

Vibrate your way to achieving your goals of health and wellbeing! In the discussion of vibration, we refer to the speed of vibration as a measurement called Hertz (Hz), and the force of the vibration as amplitude. The Hz measurement is applicable to linear platforms only; oscillating platforms are measured by amplitude. Amplitude measures how high the platform moves above its horizontal resting place. Research has found that low amplitude vibrations are best for humans and particularly those beginning an exercise regime. Larger Amplitudes create greater movement of muscles and joints and help to generate a stronger response from the organs controlling muscle reflexes. The frequencies that are best for you will depend on your age, fitness level and body type. The research we have studied suggests that vibrations in the 12 to 60 Hz range have many beneficial effects and generally most users find 40Hz is their limit. Above the 40 Hz range is more suitable for serious athletes. |

FAQs
What are the benefits attributed to vibration exercise?
- Improved muscular strength
- Rapid recovery time from sports injuries; torn muscles, sprains, swelling, etc
- Increased in flexibility and range of motion
- Enhanced critical blood flow throughout the body
- An increase in bone density
- Acceleration of weight loss and reduction in the appearance of cellulite
- Decrease cortisol levels and a increase of the 'happiness hormone' serotonin and neurothrophine
How does it help weight loss and strength training?
- The improvement of the muscle performance after a short period of vibration therapy is similar to what occurs after several weeks of heavy resistance training. The improvement of the muscle functions after resistance training has been attributed to the enhancement of the neuromuscular behaviour caused by the increasing activity of the higher motor centre. The improvement of muscle performances induced by Vibration Therapy suggests that a neural adaptation has occurred in response to the vibration treatments.
- Vibrations stimulate the biological system of athletes in the same way as strength training or explosive training. This stimulation can be applied in a much shorter period of time as compared to the time needed to perform traditional training sessions.
- Vibration Therapy opens a new window in sports science and gives coaches and scientists new possibilities for studying and enhancing human performance.
What if I have a sports injury?
Due to the low frequency of the vibrations, blood circulation is increased thus accelerating the healing process. However due to uniqueness of injuries sustained, we advise to consult with your physician first.
How does it help Post Menopausal Women?
High-frequency vibration exercise is a feasible, safe, convenient, and efficacious intervention, which assists in preventing the decline in muscle and bone strength in postmenopausal women. Such intervention can easily be added as a component of an exercise-based prevention program or even prescribed as the sole intervention when traditional exercise is not feasible.
Can the elderly use it?
Yes. Vibration treatment is a special type of exercise that may be particularly suitable for older persons.
• It does not require much time or effort
• does not cause potentially traumatic vertical displacements of the involved joints
• It specifically trains type II muscle fibres, which are selectively lost during the aging process
How does it help with osteoporosis?
Based on numerous reports, Vibration Therapy is a more useful tool for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis than pharmacologic treatment of osteoporosis.
Who can benefit from a vibration platform?
The vibration platforms have been used to help a wide variety of physical health complaints and some people have reported an increase in a feeling of optimism; the stimulating effects of the vibration machine can help counteract certain types of depression and loss of motivation.
Scientific research on the effects of vibration platforms has been conducted all over the world. Resulting publications in leading medical research journals suggests that people with debilitating conditions such as osteoporosis, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, and stroke victims can yield the benefit of exercise while working within their personal limitations and minimising stress on the joints and ligaments.
You can perform static or dynamic movements including standing, sitting, kneeling, lying, and placing your hands on the platform. Almost any exercise from a typical gym workout or yoga class to passively sitting on a chair and resting your feet can be done on a vibration platform.
How does it work?
In traditional strength and power training the load on the muscles is determined by the weight lifted. A specific frequency and amplitude of vibration is chosen and the movement of the plate loads the limbs. The vibrations stimulate a reflex contraction within the muscle which leads to a high level of muscle activation and exertion. The superior muscle-activation that the vibration machine stimulates compared to conventional training, means that less time is required to work muscle groups completely.
Setting the vibration machine
In order to achieve maximum results, the individual heart rate is used as a guideline for setting the intensity of the vibration. The body begins burning fat at approximately 65% of the maximum pulse rate. While exercising, the pulse rate should generally be at 60 - 70% in the first few weeks. Within a few weeks of undertaking a routine of 3 workouts per week of 30 minutes each, the intensity can be increased to the optimal fat burning rate of 70 – 85% of your maximum pulse rate.
As a rule of thumb, the following formula is commonly used:
Maximum pulse rate: 220 minus your age in years = your individual maximum pulse rate per min
Minimum pulse rate: Max PR x 0.7 = minimum pulse rate per min
Highest pulse rate for exercising: Max PR x 0.85 = highest pulse rate per min.
What is the maximum body weight?
The maximum body weight is 100kg.
If you have any sports injuries or concerns, please consult with you physician before using the Vitality 600. It is not recommended for pregnant women.
