Compare Juicers - BioChef Axis vs BioChef Axis Compact
BioChef is excited to announce the newest product to their Cold Press Juicer range - the BioChef Axis Compact Juicer. Perfect for beginners, this juicer can juice a wide variety of fruits and vegetables while maintaining a compact and lightweight design. With the launch of this new cold press juicer, we decided to investigate how the BioChef Axis Compact compares to the original and much loved BioChef Axis. Read on to find out more.
There are five main differences between the BioChef Axis Compact Juicer and the BioChef Axis Cold Press Juicer; these include the motor type, functionality, size and weight of the product, warranty period and the price.
Both the BioChef Axis Compact Juicer and the BioChef Axis Cold Press Juicer have 150w motors and run at 80RPM, however the type of motor differs between the two models. The Axis Compact has a D.C. motor, which it is not as ‘heavy duty’ as the A.C. motor that is present in the Axis.
A D.C. motor has been strategically chosen for the Axis Compact juicer to maintain the smaller size, lighter weight, and lower price point. Consequently, the Axis Compact becomes the perfect masticating juicer for those starting out in the world of cold press juicing.
A unique advantage of the BioChef Axis Cold Press Juicer is that it has the functionality to double up as both a juicer and a food processing machine. You can make the switch by simply replacing the juicing screen with the processing screen, and using alongside the included mincing attachments. This allows the food to be crushed by the auger and puree the ingredients to make natural and preservative-free nut butters, baby food, dips and purees, bliss balls, pasta, fruit sorbets, ice cream, and much more!
In comparison, the BioChef Axis Compact Juicer does not come with this food processing function. It has been specially-designed for those wanting to prepare cold press juices only and can juice a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, including leafy greens and wheatgrass.
Size & Weight:
The product specifications of the two models differs considerably. The BioChef Axis Cold Press Juicer is a larger and heavier machine weighing just over 6kg. In comparison, the BioChef Axis Compact Juicer weighs just 4kg - lightweight and compact, it suits the needs of travelers, university students, those with a holiday home or smaller sized kitchen spaces.
Warranty & Price:
The BioChef Axis retails at £249 and is backed by a 20 year warranty on the motor and 10 years on parts, while the BioChef Axis Compact is supported by a 10 year warranty on both the motor and parts and retails for just £159 – our most affordable cold press juicer yet!

Which BioChef Horizontal Juicer is right for me?
The horizontal style of both models, combined with the superior crushing and squeezing mechanism, means that these slow juicers are more than capable of juicing large quantities of even the most fibrous greens like wheatgrass, celery, kale, spinach or medicinal herbs with minimal foam or froth - something that a lot of other styles of slow juicers just simply cannot.
The BioChef Axis opens new possibilities and caters to your inner foodie by offering food processing capabilities; you can convert your cold press juicer into a food processing machine with the simple switch of the strainer. This function allows you to make a variety of natural and preservative-free foods including nut butters, baby foods, dips and purees, pasta and so much more!
The BioChef Axis Compact offers exceptional value-for-money for the health enthusiasts that may be newer to the ins and outs of cold press juicing and who want to focus on juicing to begin with. The smaller and lighter design means it is ideal for anyone who is on-the-go or who has a smaller kitchen space. It’s quality design and build, competitive price, and high performance level makes it one of the best value entry level juicers on the market, today.
